How and when are Website projects billed?
For billing, we use a milestone approach which works as follows:
Milestone 1: Quote, Finalization of Project, & Initial Deposit
* 50% Deposit Expected (1 of 3)
Milestone 2: Design Prototype Approval (Design ~50% Complete)
* 25% Deposit Expected (2 of 3)
Milestone 3: Project Ownership Transferred, Website Launched (100% Completion!)
* 25% Deposit Expected (3 of 3)

After you fill out the request form for your website project, I (Harmony Major) will call you within 48 hours to discuss your needs and the specifics of the project.
After having a few days to decide how best to manage your project, I'll call or write you back. During this second call, I'll give you an idea of the shape I think your project should take (which is, of course, based on your unique needs and our years of Design and Marketing experience). I'll also give you a quote as to the investment required for your website.
Once we finalize the project management details together -- and Chump Change Web Design receives the go-ahead from you -- a deposit of 50% of the quoted amount will then be expected, so that we can begin working on your website.

Once the project is 50% complete (as determined by Chump Change Web Design), you'll be shown a "rough draft" of how your design will present once it's done. (Think of this as a "design blueprint" of sorts.) We'll also offer details on how the prototype falls in line with your users' needs and your business objectives that you established for us during Milestone 1.
After we help you fully understand how the design we're creating matches your goals and the results you're after, and we answer any questions you have on the process, you can then, of course, suggest any modifications you'd like to see to help further/better define your business's goals and your creative ideas. We'll then discuss those ideas with you (to make sure the design keeps in line with your users' needs and your business objectives), and will make moderate changes to the rough draft if needed.
You and I may discuss a few times, as needed, with tweaks to the design and layout following each conversation. (In our experience, though, projects typically get to continue as originally planned, because we try hard to understand your needs "from the get go" -- that very first conversation after receiving your request form -- so that we can get your website launched as soon as possible -- without wasting any of your time.)
In any case, after discussion(s) and possible modification(s), when you're completely comfortable with the direction your project and design are heading in, we'll ask you to please approve (in electronic form) the way the project is taking shape. Immediately after that, a deposit of 25% of the project amount will then be expected, so that Chump Change Web Design can continue on with your design.

Milestone 3: Project Ownership Transferred, Website Launched (100% Completion!)
* 25% Deposit Expected (3 of 3)
Now comes the exciting part.
Your completed website will be shown to you. You'll have the opportunity to suggest any final, minor changes to help us finetune your site to be the professional, sophisticated, streamlined "machine" you've been dreaming of. After we make that final set of changes, (if applicable), we'll ask you to please approve the final design and layout (again, in electronic form).
Immediately following your final approval, the project's remaining 25% deposit will be due. Once this last deposit is made, your website will be uploaded to your server, and all design and copyright ownership will be transferred to you.
Then, you can break out the champagne! :~)
