3 Sanity-Saving Freebies for Busy Business Owners

1. FreeConference.com
http://www.freeconference.com

This site allows you to host completely free teleconferences, with up to 150 callers, for up to 3 hours! You’ll have your own free passcode to acces your dedicated conference call number, available to use 24/7 with no waiting.

With the "Web-Scheduled Standard" option, conference calls can be up to 4 hours long, and you can add on unlimited recording to this package for just $9 per month. With that add-on, all your calls that month will be recorded, stored, and available to be downloaded or played back at any time within that 30-day period.

Finally, with "Web-Scheduled Premium 800", your "per call" conference time increases to 5 hours, conferences are recorded free (no $9/mo charge), and you get a toll-free 800 number. You only pay 10¢/minute, per caller, for use of the 800 number with this option.

Wowee.

FreeConference.com is the most fantastic God-send imaginable, definitely deserving of the #1 spot on our lil life-saver list. What’s more, I know of several others who’ve used this service for important teleseminars, and I’ve never heard reports of it being unreliable in any way.

I’ve selfishly hoarded this little goody for 8 years! Guess now I can share wit’cha. ;)

2. TPC FAX
http://www.tpc.int

This service allows you to send a fax to several locations around the world, using just your e-mail software or Web browser. All you do is verify that the number you’re faxing to is within their coverage area (putting the country code first, Ex: for U.S., 1-222-333-3333). After you’ve done that, click the link on the "verification success" page to send your fax using your e-mail or their Web-based form.

You can even customize the look of the fax a bit with the e-mail program option, for instance, just with how you set up the "e-mail address" you’re faxing to. Can we say, "super-nifty"?

3. DoMyStuff.com

Elance

Running a business can be very time-consuming, both in the start-up stages and once you become a recognized expert in your online field.  There’s customer service, tech support, business proposals to answer, marketing to do, joint venture partners to find, articles to submit, new sites to set up, products to create … and more.

Yikes.

So before it gets to be too much to handle, why not outsource the mundane?

We’ve probably all heard of sites like eLance, where we can find virtual (remote) contractors to handle whatever odd jobs we need. Administrative help, routine Marketing tasks, research, etc. — almost anything we can think of.

But now, using the fairly new-to-the-scene "DoMyStuff.com", you can even find Assistants in your local area to run errands for you … and make some pretty extraordinary requests, like "arranging dinner with a celebrity or chartering a private jet".

Umm. Hmm. Oooooookay?

I don’t know that I believe that would work just yet… but they’ve got the right idea.

Bonus : Favicon.ico Generator
http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

A "favicon" is the lil icon shown beside your website’s URL in your browser’s address/location bar and bookmark menu folder, should visitors decide to bookmark your site. ;)

Look at your browser’s address bar (or tab) now. See my shiny penny? I love it! (You know you love it, too.)

I’ve always thought it was a pain in the butt to create the favicon.ico file from scratch. DD’s snazzy lil generator makes me a little less grumpy by doing the work for me. (Okay, so it wasn’t THAT much work, but hey … wherever we can get a break, right!?!?!) Now you can create an icon of your own, even more quickly, and easier than before. Just use DynamicDrive’s favicon.ico generator to convert your image into the file format needed to upload to your server.
